History of invincible Indian cricket
Indian is the richest and largest cricket playing nation in recent time. Along with historical achievement cricket team has been gone through lots of Ups and downs. Whatever the situation team never broke down but stand solid and face the challenge. Glorious Journey of Indian cricket will be remaining forever as golden word in the World Cricket History Book.

It was started way back 1639, beginning of British Raj via the East India Company, at the city of Madras following by 1661 at Bombay and at Calcutta in the year 1690. All of these places became leading centers of cricket as the popularity of the game grew among the native population.
The Calcutta Cricket and Football Club is refers to be a first cricket club founded in the year 1792 and another cricketing club was founded at Seringapatam in south India. Although, according to a report of the East India Company written in 1737, first ever match being played at Cambay, near Baroda in 1721.
First class cricket was inaugurated in the year 1864 match between Madras and Calcutta. In the 19th century most important fixtures were considered Bombay Presidency, Bombay Triangular and Bombay Quadrangular. Besides, in 1889–90 first foreign teams, an English team led by George Vernon, to tour India but none of the matches that it played are considered first-class. After that, another English team lead by, Lord Hawke was came to play four first class matches including a game against "All India" on 26–28 January 1893.
Indian cricket can be divided into two segments base on political situation. One is pre- independence and other one is post independence.
Before the independency, few talented Indian players got chance to play at British team among them Jam Saheb Shri Sir Ranjitsinhji magnificent and Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji ware famously known as top class all rounder’s. As a team India made debut in test cricket in the year 1932 in England against mighty British team. Indian Team was leading by CK Nayudu and other members of that team were Lal Singh, Phiroze Palia,Jahangir Khan, Mohammad Nissar, Amar Singh, Bahadur Kapadia, Shankarrao Godambe, Ghulam Mohammad, JanardanNavle, Syed Wazir Ali, KS Limbdi (vice‐captain), Nazir Ali, Joginder Singh, Naoomal Jaoomal, Sorabji Colah and Nariman Marshall.
Though first test was ended at 3 days but given test status for fighting performance by Indian boys. England went to bat first and manage to score 258 at first inning. Among the Indian bowler Mohammad Nissar took 5 for 93 at first inning following by 1 for 42 at second innings. In batting performance India failed to capitalize on their bowling performance, only scored 189 with top score 40 by Captain CK Nayudu. Therefore, England team got the lead of 88 runs which help them to put massive total of 346 to set the target for India. Like first inning, Indian batting could not stand up against mighty English first bowlers, only manage to score 187. As a result, England won the match by 158 runs. In spite of losing the match, Indian cricket was appreciated by all.
Australia was the first team with whom India played after independency in the 1948 at Brisbane, Australia. It was in the era of all time greatest Sir Don Bradman and India was leading by Lala Amarnath. It was 5 match series, Australia won by 4-0 and 2nd test was drown due to heavy rain.
It was first official tour of Indian cricket team and team members were as follows.
Lala Amarnath (captain), Vijay Hazare ( Vice captain), Hemu Adhikari, Amir Elahi, Jenni Irani, Gogumal Kishenchand, Vinoo Mankad, Gulmohammad, C.S Nayudu, Dattu Phadkar, Kanwar Raj Sing, C.R. Rangnekar, Ranvirsinhji, Chandu Sarwate, Probir Sen, Ranga Sohoni and team manager was Pankaj Gupta.
After long hard working, India won first ever test match against England in the year 1952 at Madras, India. Same year, Indian drown the series against Pakistan. Two years later, a five match test series been ended without any result against Pakistan. In that series, Indian top order batsman Polly Umrigar and Vijay Manjerkar as well as wonderful bowling performance by Subhash Gupte with 21 wickets in the series. It was moral boost up moment for team Indian.
Team India comprehensively won the series against New Zealand in the year 1956. It was 5 match test series. India won the series at 2-0. That series was memorable for outstanding batting performance by MH Mankad. He was scored 525 with amazing batting average of 105. Moreover, Subhash Gupte was picked off the bowlers by taking 34 wickets in the series. It was the first real singe of improvement.
In the year 1960, team Indian becoming consistent in terms of performance and getting better result. It was started with their first series win over England in 1961-62 at home arena. Thereafter, New Zealand failed to won against the India outside the subcontinent in the 1967 to 1968.
In the year 1970, India got his batting master called Sunil Gavasker. Young average height batsman made his debut against mighty West Indies in the 1970-71. Young master made his impact on first appearance and score total of 774 runs for the series and helping India to a 1-0 series win, their first ever win over the West Indies. In early seventies India was ready to move one step ahead leading by Sunil Gavasker and following by established players like Bishen Bedi, Srinivas,Erapalli Prasanna and Bhagwat Chandrasekhar. In the year 1971 and 1972-73 India won over the West Indies was followed by home and away wins over England. It was indicating that new power of world cricket is knocking the door and ready to make a mark to the World cricket.
During 80s India got players like Mohammed Azharuddin, Ravi Shastri, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Sanjay Manjrekar, Krish Srikkanth and Maninder Singh emerged. Along with energetic young talented cricketers India got his Charismatic captain Kepil Dev. This Haryana boy is one of the all time best all rounder’s in the world cricket and among the best players that India has ever produced.
Revolutionary change has made in the year 1983 when India won the ODI world cup. India sent young team leading by Kapil Dev. Two time winner West Indies was in the same group. So it was not easy for the young team to get historical result. India proved wrong all the spectator of all over the world and beat mighty West Indies in final and won the World Cup ODI trophy. In final, Along with batting performance Mohinder Amernath was bright with ball in hand too. No exception in final too. He took 3 wicket supported by Madan Lal (3-31). Though Kapil Dev not bright in bat or ball but his one memorable moment was the sight of Kapil Dev running a great distance (about 18-20 yards) to take a catch to dismiss Richards, the West Indies top scorer with 33 from 28 balls. After Viv no one was able to stand against the Indian bowler. West Indies got out for 140 from 52 overs and India won the final by 43 runs.It was dream came true moment for the Indian cricketer. Indian players did excellent performance in bat and ball as well as in fielding. In the final Amarnath was the most economical bowler, conceding just 12 runs from his seven overs, while taking 3 wickets, and was once again awarded the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance. There was no Man of the Series awarded in 1983.
Two years later in1985, India won the World Championship of Cricket in Australia. Next year win over England in test match remain the last successful test series outside the subcontinent for 19 years. During mid 80s Sunil Gavasker became first ever batsmen in test history to achieve 10000 runs with 34 remarkable centuries.  

Let 80s during the ending era of Sunil Gavasker, Wonder boy came to Indian cricket. The boy of 16 years with short height but tallest of batting ability was made his debut in the year 1989 against Pakistan. He was master blaster the Sachine Ramesh Tendukar. In the same year another legend of Indian cricket Anil Kumble made his debut.

In the 90s captainship was taken by Mohammed Azharuddin. One of the successful Indian Captains was mainly known for his ability to perform under the presser situation as well as excellent batting talent. He played 99 test for his country before banned from all international matches for match fixing. It was though time for Indian cricket.

In that critical situation, Saurav Ganguly took over as captain. This left handed taneted boy made his debut with another right handed great Rahul Dravid in 1996. Although In 1999 world cup India performed well under the cpatancy of Azar but not expected.

In 2000, known as starting of modern cricket era, was turning point for the new team India. It began in the famous series against Australia in 2001, when Steve Waughs strong team was defeated 2-1 in a Test series after having taken a 1-0 lead at Mumbai. That test series was mainly known for superb performance by VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and game changing bowling performance by Harbhajan Singh. That test series work as key of fortune and India won series against Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England, Australia, and a famous series victory against arch-rivals Pakistan in 2004. Between this year, India won historical matches against mighty England in England as well as against Australia at Adelaide in 2003.

In the same year world cup was held in South Africa. Indian team was ready and top of the form. Team was well balanced by experienced and young enthusiastic players like Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif emerged and both also known for wonderful fielding. India reaches the final against Australia. Indian captain Saurav Ganguly won the toss and decided to field first. Decision was proved wrong when Australian top order batsman put massive total of 359. India only managed to score 234 for all wickets. Although, 2003 world cup was not named to Indian but got talented attacking batsman like Virender Sehwag. He became the first Indian batsman to score 300 in a test inning against Pakistan at their soil.

In 2005, Indian cricket was losing momentum due to have short of misunderstanding between senior players of the team and coach Australian Greg Chappell. That mass affected badly Saurav Ganguly. It was followed by Ganguly being dropped from the team and Rahul Dravid taking over as captain. In the same year coach Greg Chappell been replaced by John Wright.

Came out from the internal conflict India was preparing for upcoming 2007 world cup hosted by West Indies. During this critical time India got some wonderful talented players like Suresh Raina and Mr. Captain Cool MSD.

Boy of Ranchi with long hair known for his hitting ability and keeping. Who knows this long hair cut boy would become one of the successful captains in world cricket? Alongside experienced players like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS young legs of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, MSD were ready to go.

Unfortunately having good preparation India got out from the tournament for first round by losing young tiger Bangladesh. It was one of the shocking moments that made Indian cricket board to think out of the box. That made MS. Dhoni captain for upcoming T20 world cup with bunch of young players. Decision was not acceptable by all until team India leading by MS. Dhoni won the first ever T20 world cup championship against Pakistan in south Africa in the year 2007. It was massive moment for team India as well as captain cool. World have seen extra ordinary performance like Six sixes in an over hitting Yuvraj Singh.

Thereafter, some curtail decision been made by board and all formats captain Ms. Dhoni. Captain cool was planning for next 2011 ODI world cup at home. It was known to all that it will be the last for the master blaster Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. So team was getting ready to give to most precious price of his service as world cup.

2011 world cup team was young but full of energy, courage and not doubt about the talent. Young Virat koli was one of the new comers with lots of promise and ready to deliver for his team in the time of requirement. Bowling department was leading by Zaheer khan, Harbhajan Singh and irfan pathan. India started well by betting Bangladesh with big margin. It was curtail match against Australia in semi but India won convincingly and reach the final. It was against Sri Lanka. Captain MSD played best knock of that tournament supported by Gautam Gamvir and won the world title for team India though his form was not good. Main hero of wining 2011 world cup for India was Yuvraj Singh. He is a real hero, having serious health problem ne never broke down perform every moment when ever team needed. His all rounding performance made India second times ODI Champion.
After that world cup, India became consistent and solid team ready to face any challenge any time. Indian cricketer pipe line getting better and better as a result Indian team established top big team in the world cup.
Virat Kholi has become dependable batsman of India and proved one of the best batsmen at inside or outside the home. In the year 2014, Indian most successful captain MSD declared from test and give captaincy to aggressive Virat kholi though captain cool still was the ODI leader.
2015 world cup at Australia was not happy journey for team India, defending champion got back from super eight. After that MSD also give up his captaincy and team management made Virat Kholi captain for all three formats.
In recent time under the captaincy of Virat Kholi, India got wonderful result such as beaten the Australian cricket team with an ass-kicking 2-1 victory in the 2017 Border-Gavaskar trophy and England by 4-0 in the 2016-17.
Besides, Indai also won big tournament such as ICC champion trophy and Asia cup as well. List of some of the big achievement is given below.
