2010 Indian Premier League, 3 edition

IPL 2010 also known as IPL3 is one of the attractive season in the history of IPL. In that season first ever cricket tournament that was broadcast live on YouTube. The final four matches of the tournament were screened in 3D across movie halls in India. Management committee was thinking that near about 200 million will be the television audience.
Player auction
Total number of registered players were 97 among them remain short listed 66 players. After exciting betel 11 players were selected by the team owners.  West Indies all-rounder Kieran Pollard and New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond were the highest bid players in the auction. Mumbai Indians brought Kieran Pollard and KKR made their blowing attack stronger by having Shane Bond.

According to the format top four teams of the table will get chance to play knock out stage of the tournaments. Top four teams of the tournaments are Mumbai Indians, Deccan Charger, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Knock out stage
There are two semis with third place winning match were held before the mega final at 25 April 2010 — DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.
At first semi final, 21 April 2010 — DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai
It was the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai Indians bat first and made 184 runs in the loss of 5 wickets at the end of the 20th Over’s. In replay RCB only manage to score 149 runs by losing 9 wicket at 20 Over’s. Win over RCB made Mumbai Indians first finalist.
At second semis, 22 April 2010 — DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai
It was a tough condition to bat and made big score to defend but CSK bat well and manage to score 142 runs at their 20 over’s by losing 7 wickets only.  To chase down the total Deccan Charger was all out at 104 runs. Therefore CSK got the place at the final to play against Mumbai Indians.
According to the format, third position match was held at 24 April 2010 — DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.  It was Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Deccan Charger. It was upsetting match for the spectator. Deccan Charger could not make the full use of the batting condition and got out for 82 runs only by losing all wickets. In replay RCB made the run chase so easy and won the match by 9 wickets.
25 April 2010 — DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai,
Final match was held between CSK and Mumbai Indians. Both teams played well throughout the tournaments and reach the final. CSK bat first and post fighting total of 168 for 5 at the end of 20th Over’s.  In replay Mumbai only manage to score 146 runs by losing 9 wickets. That made CSK the first time winner of the IPL tournaments.
Saurabh Tiwary was declared the U-23 success of the tournament, while the Chennai Super Kings won the Fair Play Award.The purple cap went to Pragyan Ojha of Deccan Chargers, while the orange cap and the player of the tournament award were awarded to Sachin Tendulkar of the Mumbai Indians.
