Indian Premier League 2011

IPL 2011 season was known as an IPL4. After finishing the third successful season of IPL three, this time governing council is looking forward to add two teams in the form of Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Opening ceremony is always attractive part of IPL. That season was no difference it was held at in M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai and the home venue of the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.
Pune Warriors India was represented the city of Pune in the Indian Premier League. It was also one of the two new franchises added to the IPL for the 2011 season. The team was owned by Sahara Adventure Sports Limited, a group company of the Indian business conglomerate Sahara India Pariwar. The team's home ground was the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium located in Gahunje, Pune. They got Surav Ganguly as a captain of the side.
Kochi Tuskers Kerala was a franchise cricket team that played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) representing the city of Kochi, Kerala. The team franchise was owned by Kochi Cricket Pvt Ltd., which was a consortium of multiple companies. This team was leading by left handed dashing batsman Yuveraj sing.
Format
These time total numbers of teams were 10 in change of 8 and they have divided into two groupsA and B. This new format consists of 74 matches. The knockout stage was changed to a playoff format. If a match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played to determine the winner. According to the group teams

Playoff stage
After finishing the group stage top four teams get the place at playoff stage to get the place at final.
24 May — Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
First playoff was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. They were the top place holder of the table. Therefore, they would get the first place of the final. Royal Challengers Bangalore bat first and made 175 for 4 at 20 Over’s. Score was not easy to chase down but CSK made the total to simple to get at 19.4 over’s without losing too many wickets. End of the innings CSK won the match by 6 wickets. That made them first finalist of the tournament.
25 May — Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
At second playoff, Kolkata Knight Riders was playing against Mumbai Indians. KKR only made 147 runs at their inning at 20 over’s losing 7 wickets. In replay, Mumbai Indians was looking confident to chaise the total and get that total of 148 for 6 at 19.2 over’s. Therefore, Mumbai Indians got the chance to play at semi against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

27 May — M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Royal Challengers Bangalore post huge total of 185 for 4 at the end of 20th over’s. In replay Mumbai Indians only manage to score 142 runs by losing 8 wickets. As a result Royal Challengers Bangalore 43 runs at 20 Over’s.
After the playoff rounds two finalist Royal Challengers Bangalore and CSK meet the final.
29 May — M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
Throughout the tournament CSK has been dominating the game against any team. No difference at the final. In 20 over’s CSK post huge total of 205 losing 5 wickets. It was huge task for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and won the trophy for the first time. CSK blowers bowled with maintaining proper line and length and made 205 runs extremely difficult to chase for the RCB. At the end of the 20th over’s RCB only manage to score 147 runs by losing 8 wickets. Therefore CSK become the champion by winning the final by 48 runs.
Records
IPL is the big place to perform for the players. This is the game of pure power with touch of class. Left hand west indies batsman played amazing powerful inning to make the team win comfortable.   Chris Gayle won the Orange Cap for maximum runs in the tournament (608 from 12 matches). On the other hand Sri Lankan blowing powerhouse Lasith Malinga who plays for the Mumbai Indians got the Purple Cap for most wickets (28 from 16 matches).
Kieron Pollard another west indies talented all rounder impress by his fielding ability and was awarded for taking most catches in the tournament while Kings XI Punjab batsman Paul Valthaty was awarded the Best Individual Performance in the IPL for his 120 runs against Chennai. This is the right place for the young talent to show their ability and lead the team towards the victory. The Rising Star of IPL was awarded to Iqbal Abdullah of Kolkata Knight Riders. He impress the cricketing world by his bowling performance.
