Indian Premier League 2012


After the eventful ending of fourth edition of DLF IPL organizing committee was eagerly waiting to start fifth edition of DLF IPL 2013 also know as fifth edition. This season the number of teams in the league went from ten to nine with the termination of Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Most importantly some of the young super star such as Sunil Narin, Man deep sing and Sakib al hasan  show their talent in the big stage of the world cricketing arena. Throughout the tournament KKR played excellent cricket won the crown of the tournament.
Opening ceremony
At 3 April night in Chennai at the YMCA Ground the opening ceremony was held. The ceremony included some performances by, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva, Colonial Cousins, Katy Perry and most importantly one and only the legend of Bellowed Amitabh Bachchan. The opening game was held in the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, and the home venue of the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings. Unlike other edition of IPL 5th edition also had the closing ceremony also held at the same venue.

22 May 2012 — Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium
At first playoff match was between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR bat first and put fighting total of 162 for 4 at the end of 20 Over’s. In reply, DD was not looking comfortable enough to chase the total and lost by 18 runs. Therefore, KKR became the first team to make the final at fifth edition of 2012 IPL.
23 May 2012 — M. Chinnaswamy  Stadium, Bengaluru
At second playoffs, Chennai Super Kings played against Mumbai Indians. CSK made 187 for 5 at 20 over’s. In replay, Mumbai Indians made 149 for lost of 9 wickets at their 20 overs. Therefore, Mumbai Indians get out of the tournament and CSK got another opportunity to fight for the finals against Delhi Daredevils.
25 May 2012 — M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
At semi final, CSK played against Delhi Daredevils to get the ticket of final. In that process CSK post huge total of 222 for 5 at their 20 overs. To make the final Delhi Daredevils had to play best part of their ability. It was a sad day for them and lost the by big margin of 86 runs.
So it was very clear that hart thrilling final is waiting for the spectator at 27 May 2012 — M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

It was exciting evening for the cricket lover. CSK made full use of the condition and made 190 for 3 at 20 Over’s. It was a big score to chase in the final against the quality bowling attack of CSK.  In reply, KKR batsman was in good touch to chase the total. They start well and give opportunity to lower order batsman to make the crown in the name of KKR. They really bat well and chase down the total with easy at 19th over of the inning.
Some of the exciting issues
# Rajasthan Police give notice to the KKR owners Sharukh Khanat 9 April due to smoking at the field. Khan was caught smoking on camera during a match between the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL team he owns, and the Rajasthan Royals on 8 April.
# Unorthodox incident was happening when KKR owner involved in a argument with security at the ground after a match. It was in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. After finishing the match he wanted to reach the ground and have a chat with teams but Security stopped him to enter at the ground.
# 18 May: A Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman named Luke Pomersbach, was arrested on charges of molesting an American woman. He was later granted interim bail.
# 20 May: Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell, Pune Warriors players, were detained by Mumbai Police along with hundreds at a rave party bust.
