Indian Premier League 2015 season 8


IPL season 8 was one of the exciting seasons in the history of Indian Premier League in the year 2015. Season was called PEPSI IPL 2015 due to the sponsorship of PEPSI. It was started on 8 April 2015 game between Kolkata Knight Riders, previous season winner, and Mumbai Indians winner of 2013 and ended with fantastic final played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

Opening ceremony

IPL is not only about but also popular for gathering of international celebrities. Every year since the begging, governing board of IPL has been arranging world class opening ceremony for cricket crazy IPL fan all over the world. In the season 8 opening ceremony was held at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, on 7 April 2015. The ceremony began after a one and a half hours delay due to rain from its schedule time. All the eight teams captain signed the "MCC Spirit of Cricket" pledge. After that ceremony got started and some of the big stare susch as Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor performed among others.

Exceptions

Pepsi IPL season 8, 2015 is remembered for some of the matters. In total, all measure proved to be an attractive one to the cricket lover.

Fanpark a new initiative was taken by the BCCI to extend the reach of IPL across the country. Match official

Management is very much committed to run the tournament fair and free of any controversy. Therefore, every season IPL has been running with strong and experience official. In match 26 officials (umpires and referees) participated in a two-day workshop, organized by the BCCI, in preparation for the 2015 IPL season. The workshop was held at the Cricket Centre, Mumbai, on 4 and 5 April 2015, from 9am to 5pm.

Players Auction

All over the cricketing world is very much keen to know about the player auction and team combination. In the season 8, total of 123 players been retained by franchises for 2015. . At the 2015 IPL auction held on 16 February at Bangalore, Yuvraj Singh was sold to Delhi Daredevils for ₹16 crore, a record bid in IPL auction history. A total of 67 players were sold out in the auction and the franchises spent a total of ₹87.60 crore to buy the players. In total like other season, 2015 IPL auction was also full of thrill.

Journey to final

PEPSI IPL season 8 in 2015, every team was ready to face the challenge and get the precious crown in their head. Journey was started on 8 April 2015 game between Kolkata Knight Riders, previous season winner, and Mumbai Indians winner of 2013 and ended with fantastic final played on 24 May 2015 between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Winner

Final was held between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings both were hungry to test the championship on 29 May 2015. After won the toss Chennai Super Kings elected to field first that decision went to the Mumbai Indian site and they post massive total of 202 for 5. In replies Chennai Super Kings stated well but could not chases the total posted by Mumbai Indian in final. They manage to score 161 for 8. Mumbai Indian won the final by 41 runs and become the champion of PEPSI IPL season 8 in 2015 for the second time.

Achievement

2015 PEPSI IPL season 8 is memorable for some excellent performance. In terms of personal achievement cricketing world witness some heroic performer.

David Warner, one of the best batsmen in recent time, known as pocket dynamite manages to score 562 runs with excellent batting average of 43.23 and that made him most run getter winner of the season.

Dwayne Bravo, right arm first medium bowler of West Indies, got the highest wicket in the season of 2015. He took 26 wickets in 17 matches with average of 16.38 only.

In addition, Andre Russell, Jamaican all rounder, of the Knight Riders was named Most Valuable Player of the season.

Rohit Sharma, Mumbai captain, was given player of the final for his knock of 50 from 26 balls.
