Venkatesh Prasad, tall and lanky man was, one of former Indian Test and ODI player. His job was bowling and he proved himself to be formidable bowling force and significant member of the Indian teams.
Although, he looked a lanky man but he had super ability to bowl in same speed consistently. He was a right-arm fast medium pacer. He was born on August 5, 1969 in Bangalore, He was called by his teammate and also by the fans was "VENKY" it's his Nickname but his full name is Bapu Krishnarao
At the late 1990's India's most agreeably opening fast ball couple was tall vanky man and Javagl Srinath, for five years they are maintained the new ball bowling combination ever since the unseen, legendary days of Mohammad Nissar and Amar Singh. They were not coupling for Team India they have known each other long ago because they from the same state which was made them the great couple and both reckoned being as the best Indian new ball attacker bowlers, at that time amongst of all cricketer. Most prestigious things for the cricket or the cricketer is "World Cup Tournament" and "Vanky" got this glory chance twice. in his cricket life and the years are 1996 & 1999. His best blowing figure is 5 for 27 which was in the world cup and played valuable 14 matches and took 17 wickets.
Tall and proportionately built, Prashad made his debut in test in 1996 against England at Birmingham it was a great start for the prashad in test. Since then he plays for his country and this duration was more than 5 five years. In this 5 years he has startling performances. He has 5 wickets against all most all big teams and these are South Africa, England and West Indies. But it's not his best of best performance, his best performance against the major adversary of India, it is Pakistan it was in 1999 he took 6 for 33 and its include with 5 for 0. His kind of spiel can be dangerous for any team so, was for the unpredictable Pakistan.
Any athlete or sports person in the world scared of for one thing it is injuries. And Prasad has face this problem in 2000-01 season and he cost it very badly. For the injuries and poor form, leading to his dropping from the team after the Sri Lanka Test series in 2001. At that time, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra was in growth for the next pair of pacer for the India. So, Prasad found very difficulties to come back on to the national side but he trying in vain to make a comeback to the national side till his retirement. He retired from all format of cricket in May 2005.
He retires from cricket but he had special attachment for the cricket, that’s why he took the commentator profession. But this profession doesn’t make him happy so he besides being a commentator he started his coaching career and it seems bright for the cricket India. He got his hard work price by selecting as a coach for the bowling. It was in 2007 against Bangladesh tour. After that he was a blowing coach for the team India. But in 2009 he lost his job only because bowlers had very bad performance in England and New Zealand. But he continued his coaching career for the IPL for the Chennai SuperKings and Chennai Super Kings got the Champions trophy in 2010. After that he was a bowling coach for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
